Hi everyone,

We've updated our 'small print' on Talking Point, to tell you more about why we ask you for information, what we do with it and your rights.

We've emailed everyone on our list, and also included a final reminder on how to continue receiving our monthly updates.

Why have we done this?

This is due to a new law (GDPR) which asks organisations to ensure they use people's data in the best way. The aim of this law is to increase transparency between you and the people who hold information about you, and also to ensure you know your rights.

We care about our service users (you!) so we make sure that we only use your data when we need to and in the most appropriate way. We've always done this, and this information is just an update to tell you more.

What have we changed?

We've updated the Terms and Conditions of using Talking Point to update some new information about privacy and your data, and and also included some small changes about the types of content we don't allow on the forums. We've also moved some of the detail about your privacy to our Privacy Policy.

We've updated our Guidelines with some minor changes to wording and moved some information to our Privacy Policy.

We've moved the detail of our Cookies Policy from the Alzheimer's Society website to Talking Point, and updated it to reflect some changes to the type of cookie used.

We've created a new Privacy Policy by bringing together information that was in our Guidelines and the Terms and Conditions. This has been updated to explain more about what data we process and why.

I have questions about this - what do I do?

If you have questions please feel free to contact us by emailing talkingpoint@alzheimers.org.uk

Thanks,

Serena
