My mother doesn't leave the house. Her toenails are overgrown and yellowing. The GP says that no treatment can be given as she is not diabetic, we must take her to a chiropodist.

She won't leave the house, and I don't live near enough to be present whenever a home visit chiropodist might call. Carers are only in her house for 15 minutes, so their presence can't be relied upon.

What do other people do for their elderly relatives footcare?

My mother-in-law is housebound she has a visit every 2 months privately from a podiatrist for both toenails and fingernails. Cost is £45. I pay the podiatrist online via my POA.

Every 6 weeks or so, my chiropodist comes to my house to sort my feet. £25,and it’s only just gone up!
