Hi
I have been a carer to my mum for the last 3 years it's been hard to get family support and know my rights as a working carer.
I sometimes feel very alone hence why I have joined this online chat as at times i am at a loss what i can do and who i can turn to for help

be nice to get support from others who understand :)

Helpful do you have any input from social workers, carers groups, CPN etc. We all need advice at times on medication, resources, behaviour and these are the people we turn to. The situation in Scotland is a little different from other areas and if you are able to give a rough idea of the area you live in on your profile then others from that area may be able to advise about what is available. Don't need to identify yourself just the area.

You might find it useful to chat with someone on the Dementia Helpline. You'll find the details here -

https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/info/20012/helpline?_ga=1.131980555.549088353.1488398070

You can find out if there are any Alzheimer Society services by putting your postcode in the Dementia Connect link here -

As Marion says things are a bit different in Scotland so if you need the Scottish contact details just let us know and someone will pop them in here for you.
