Disposable pull up panties. Mum has these on prescription but only 2 a day so extras I buy from Boots - Tena or Depend, I choose these because they seem to have a better elasticated system. To get mum used to wearing them I disguised them by putting ordinary knickers on top.
The Wrap around/adult nappy, AgeUk have them on their website but honestly they are not that easy to put on, especially if the wearer is already dressed and standing!
I saw the ones that look like nappies too. Thought I'd seen the back of nappies for a while (youngest daughter now 11) until grandchildren came along (hopefully one day, my oldest of 3 girls is 25). Adult nappies so much more expensive than children's nappies.
Another tip, if you use pull ups, you can put a pad inside these and then if your mum pulls pad out you still have the security of wearing the pulls ups to 'catch' any accidents. I know that all sounds bulky, but it is what I used to do and worked well.
Thank you for the suggestion. Hope mum doesn't try to flush them away. At the weekend the career told me mum needs more underwear. I had bought some new packets from Primark not long ago so now I'm wondering if she's flushed her soiled knickers down the loo, especially as last month the drain was blocked and we had to get someone out to clear it.
I found Boots own brand to be the best about £7.99 for 12. Tesco and Morrisons also have their own makes, a little cheaper that Boots but quality was not as good and they only did them in medium /large size and Mum needed a small size.
Bear in mind that with pull ups it can be a bit more of a faff to change as you have to remove trousers (none of those handy press studs up the legs you have with baby clothes) and possibly shoes, unless they have sticky sides like children's nappies. That can be difficult if the person is not terribly cooperative, and especially if the pull ups are soiled.
After reading a post on here I asked Mum's GP to make a referral to the incontinence service. We were visited by a specialist nurse who probably exaggerated Mum's needs (as did I) and we got a one pull-up a day allowance. They have been a godsend. I am aware that not all Health Authorities are so helpful.

We had adult pull ups until mum went into a care home. I rang our local incontinence service direct and played a bit thick saying I didn't know how to get mum referred to them etc. We had an appointment within 2 weeks, were sent home with a months worth on pants and a delivery service arranged to deliver a months worth for an extra £5.00 this was well worth it,as it meant we always had at leat 2 packs unopened on standby for accidents
