Can someone give any advice on this scenario.....
If social services assessed an Alzheimer's sufferer and said they needed 24 hour care, would that care be free even if the patients savings were well above the £24000 limit ?
Hope some of you knowledgeable folk can help out here :)
Thanks
Anne

You'd be a self funder as the savings are over the limit, you could apply for CHC but don't hold your breath on getting it.

I've been looking at a few sites in the last couple of days. These links may help:

https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/means-tests-for-help-with-care-costs-how-they-work

Good luck!

I am afraid you would be self funding.it seems that dementia is not recognized as a illness that why you have to pay forget NHS from birth to death.if you have cancer or other illness that different take care pins tony
