I'm glad it went well Tony. I don't know why it's important that our loved ones funerals go well - but I remember when William died, I was so glad of small things, like that it didn't rain (it was freezing cold, although it was August!), and somehow, it just does make it a bit better - it's comforting, isn't it? - when lots of people attend the funeral. It's like an acknowledgment that, although they were so ill for so long, they still mattered. The church where William's funeral was held were completely taken by surprise by how many turned up for his funeral. They were opening up doors into hallways and classrooms, and setting out extra chairs in the kitchen that opened off the side of the church! It did make me feel better on the day. Not so abandoned.
