Mum has just been discharged from hospital after suffering from puemonia. I have been reading about this online and am very worried that the hospital have not given us any guidelines on feeding my mum so the food does not go into her lungs again. Can anyone please give me some advice? We have carers helping mum too and I want to name sure they don't feed her laying down again. Thank you

Ask your GP for a referral to the SALT (speech and language therapy) team. They deal with eating, drinking and swallowing. Quite frankly, they should have done that in hospital.
