Is there a NHS directive about how a person is tested/trated after diagnosis?

I only ask because my OH, who is 56, has not seen a Dr or Specialist at all.

Everything has been done either here at home or over the phone (including being told he had Alzheimers).

As he he showing signs of DLB I am desparately trying to get him to see a Consultant - no luck so far.

So who diagnosed AZ and what tests did they base the diagnosis on? It should be a GP who triggers the investigation, which will include brain scans, memory tests, etc. You can't do this just by looking at a person or over the phone!
