Just been to visit mum in the care home. She was in bed because her legs are splitting and weeping, her speech was slurred and she is like a skeleton with skin. Is this the end, oh how i hate this!

I'm very sorry to hear this Chelsea girl - it is just so hard. Hopefully you can hold her hand and comfort her. ON a practical level, has she been seen by a GP or specialist nurse to see if anything can be done to alleviate the sore legs? Thinking of you. Sue

so sorry to read the distress in your post Chelsea girl
please do ask to speak to the care home manager and ask what the situation is - definitely agree with Rodelinda, check the GP is involved and maybe the District Nurse - and chat with the staff when you visit - I find that the carers answer my questions and listen to any concerns I have about my dad, which settles my mind
best wishes to you and your mum

Thanks for the replies. The district nurse is dressing her legs and they are hoping the doctor can give her pain relief patches or something for the pain. The staff have said her body is shutting down. We went again today but she wasnt awake so we put her music on which seems to settle her and i sat and stroked her arm. I feel so sad
