Mum is incontinent, but currently had a catheter in situ. There has been some discussion about whether it should be removed.

I'm not sure whether this is a good idea or not. Any suggestions?

I don't know the whole story but catheters are usually not such a great idea when it comes to dementia, as people don't realise what they are and rip them out. They can also cause more infections. What's happened for her to have to wear one? Is she not wearing pads?

She's in hospital. Dr says she only has weeks to live. The care home want the catheter removed as risk of infection. Waiting for palliative care team input.
