Baby annabel cists about 37 pounds but will make baby noises. It is baby sized and feels heavier than a normal doll. Also no hair so easier to keep clean. Im sure it will be on offer somewhere.

Please don't worry too much about getting your Mum something nice. Everything goes walkabout in a care home, sometimes returning days later, sometimes not at all.

Your Mum won't worry about having something super-duper. You'll be less upset when an inexpensive, easily obtained doll goes missing. It'll be easier for you to stay relaxed and focused on enjoying quality time with your Mum.

None to be had!

Obviously all coming to a care home/ nursing home near us !

How about getting her a second-hand one from a charity shop? Or will that cause problems (I know it would with my mum)?

Aw...that was kind of you Yvonne.....maybe when this one goes walkies

Doll is lovely. Nice weight to it. Half vinyl , half fabric. It has a bottle which when you put it to the dolls lips, the doll blinks and it's cheeks move and it makes sucking noises.

I'm quite taken with it myself lol!

Seeing mum this afternoon. I will report back what she makes of it.

Husband thinks she will pull its arm off....I hope not!

It's always worth a look in charity shops Dotty, then if your mum's one goes walkabout you'll have an emergency spare. ( they'll only have cost a pound or two as well )

Well that was disappointing.

Mum seemed quite agitated by the doll. The doll came with a spoon tied to its wrist by a thread so we did the same with the bottle.

Was mum worried about the bottle hurting the doll anyway she stuffed the bottle up the dolls top.

Then she got my scarf and wrapped the doll in it.

She told the carer she was a bit frightened....of what I don't know.

I went to put my mums new clothes in her room and when I came back , mum had changed chairs and another lady was cuddling it!!!!

That's dementia for you!
