Hi Lin and everyone else in this rocky boat. My mum asked to go home for a few weeks and then said, "well I realise I have been dumped here now". I felt awful, guilty, sad etc. We have quite happy visits now, they do change - sometimes for the good & sometimes not so. Yesterday she was telling me about her home (actually now "home" to mum is the care home) and the ornaments in the communal lounge and that she couldn't remember who had bought them for her. Even though she is basically happy, I still leave with a guilty feeling that I have "got away" with an easy visit. I don't think any of us will feel any better than a page behind but it is the best we can do.
