NHS dental care in care homes

Hi. I have finally found a lovely care home for my mum. She doesn't currently have a dentist as she was struck off due to missing appointments (we were unaware). The new care home will register her with their dentist who visits the home regularly. However, the care home has said that no one living in a care home is entitled to NHS dental treatment (apparently a recent government decision so I'm told). Is this correct? I am shocked by this. Dad still lives independently at home, so after paying mums top up fees for her care, he would not have the finances to pay for mum's private dental care too.

Not heard of that regulation.
Ask the CCG for a definitive answer.

@vaana ana @Libbybookworm , my husband’s dentist has just referred him to the community health dental team as it would be very difficult to access the surgery. Think, like everything else NHS there is a waiting list!
