Japanese memory groups

Has anyone heard of Japanese memory groups? I have been reading a book called "Dementia from the Inside" by Dr Jennifer Bute and she mentioned these groups, I wondered if it was possible to to find any in the UK.
It was a very good book it's called "Dementia from the inside - a doctor's personal journey of Hope, about a lady who is a doctor, she worked with people with dementia and then she got dementia herself; she's had it for 10 years and written a book which is is very positive, it's a story as well as hints and and advice etc
