Breathing at night that sounds a tad...wet?

We have noticed some changes in our mothers breathing, especially at night but it doesn't last very long and seems fine after. It doesn't happen a lot, every now and again.

She has swallowing issues that we trying to work out a diet-doc said its trial and error. She's more frail the last few weeks, temperature up and down, she's been very sad, agitated and restless.

We check for signs of pain but doesn't seem to be any. She just says herself that shes sad.

She said her goodbyes Wednesday, that she was done, that we were still good and need to keep ourselves good, thanked us for our time and asked to be alone in bed so she could go quietly. Barely 5 minutes later shes out of bed with a smile on her face as if nothing happened.

Shes severe, consultant said one or two years, dnr in place.

Its really hard. She seems very clear this week. She usually enjoys the garden but today she was crying and saying she was sad she wouldn't be around to see her flowers.

Your heart breaks.

Even telling us we are still good and to keep ourselves good.

Cant help but get goose bumps with these moments.

Noisy breathing is usually phlegm in the back of the throat and can sometimes be made worse by lots of milky drinks or meal replacements. When things reach the final stages there is medication that can be given to slightly dry secretions so that the nasty gurgling doesn't become distressing, talk to her GP if it continues.
