Hi,

Has anyone had any experience of accessing cognitive stimulation therapy on the NHS, especially in Wales? I'd be interested to know how you managed to obtain this and whether it has been helpful for the person with dementia that you care for.

Many thanks!

A company called Positive Steps do it in N Somerset in conjunction with the NHS but I think it's probably aimed at carers rather than patients.

The Memory Service offer CST here. They run courses for 10 weeks aimed at the person with dementia. Personally I think it would be better aimed at the carer so we could use it on a daily basis. What is the point of 20 hours over 10 weeks? If it really works it is needed constantly.
