Dad's medications

Glad to report Dad tried to walk last night, although he wasn't able to get out of bed. He did take a 'punch' at someone who told him not to get out of bed! Nothing happened, but he was given Ativan & calmed down enough to sleep the rest of the night. The staff knew he was washing out of his medications & were very supportive of his mood swing.

Today, Dad had physical therapy (with electric-pulses) to get his muscles working again. He was able to pedal a bike for 15 minutes. And he FED HIMSELF! I couldn't hold back tears and Staff who saw him doing this were so congratulatory to him.

I am confident that the Staff will be able to give him something to calm him during the nights and are very aware of his situation. It is estimated to take 7 days to get rid of Risperdal effects completely, and the physician & charge nurse will be selecting a new regimen to try.

For now, I can sleep better & am very thankful to EVERYONE!

Bless you all!!!

Julie

Hello Julie

This is such good news and I am thrilled for you and relieved for your dad

I hope that you are able to build up a good communication network so that you can have confidence that everyone is working in your dad's best interest.

Hope you have a good rest - you deserve it

Love and best wishes
