Well, since I've done more than my fair share of moaning - and at the risk of tempting fate - I thought I would share the news that today has been pretty good, all things considered.

Ok, she avoided the shower this morning, but Mum's been bright and perky all day, but not hyper. She even offered to help with lunch! And at one point, she came to me in the kitchen to ask me if I was all right, as she was worried about me (gulp).

I almost feel relaxed!

Hi Christine - got a good night's sleep - and no hangover. Today mum has been confused about who I am - she said 'I have an Isobel as well' (that would be me I think!). We had 4 hours of the same questions last night and it has started again tonight. I have managed to distract her with a recording of the Remembrance Day Service.

I do empathise with you.

I hope you have a good night. Take care. Izzy x

I know that can be annoying but it beats a person staying in the same clothes for DAYS and refusing to wash. At least there's a halfway decent chance of getting a wet, soapy flannel in there occasionally if the person is changing all the time.

Hi
So glad you have had a more relaxed day with your mum. Long may it continue!!
Don't worry about her changing clothes, just be happy she is still capable of dressing herself, my mum does not have a clue!
I have had a great day with my little family, we have been into Liverpool, the boys got wwe tickets for their birthday at the echo arena, it was so naff, but my boys loved it and I loved going shopping and for lunch before hand,Liverpool is looking great these days.
Have a good,restful night.

Thank you, both. It pretty much lasted all day - the only thing was, she insisted on sleeping in her day clothes again! But hey, it was still a very good day

I shall be off to Liverpool between Christmas and New Year, to meet up with a friend who lives in Germany. He's a former colleague (still works for my last employer), and although we have never met in person, he has been tremendously supportive regarding the situation with Mum. In fact, he's an absolute angel, and has an amazing way with the English language. Not much coaxes a laugh out of me these days, but he can - it's the way he tells them!

So it will be interesting to see what the city centre is like - I go to Liverpool every year to take Mum to the Royal Liverpool Hospital, but I never get to see the centre.

Love
