Website for people with dementia, carers and health professionals.

    Hello TP members,

I am an MSc student and my thesis is on creating a dynamic website for carers and health professionals (people living with dementia will be involved in next stage) to read a book (there is two version - one for carers and another for health professionals) along with commenting facility for users. The book provides advice and share stories to make communication easier and better. The website follows majority of guidelines to improve usability problems. But I feel the website needs to have online chat and forum. Initial idea for online chat is "one to one" (This leads to one more problem who should be on other side providing advice people living with dementia, carers or health professionals). Since the website will be divided into 3 different sections to provide information by targeting that particular section users. Also in next stage I would like to improve the website by providing more information for people living with early dementia and carers like local community advice details and other important information. There is some more ideas but I don’t know will it work out or not like a message to carers phone with daily or hourly plan (where the information has to filled in website earlier itself).
My sincere apologies if I meant anything wrong. Please feel free to provide me an advice on above information and correct me. Moreover, there might arise a question in your mind why forum when talking point (which is successful) is already there, my idea is getting involved health professionals also. Moreover people will look for advice from many users (security aspect will be considered so that the advice is provided by genuine person).

Have a look at the Carewell website, partnership between Carers UK and BUPA.
