I really feel for you, bemused. My mam has absolutely no empathy for anyone else. She is totally consumed with herself and her own needs. My dad's life is totally hers, he has none of his own. He exists for her and nothing else matters to her any more. It's very hard to watch. I have no answers, just sympathy. Rant on here, because it does help!

I am trying to think about how we deal with this inside our heads: we have the freedom to think our own thoughts and dream our own dreams - we are free not to enter somebody else's mind, whatever the physical restrictions.

That's a really good thought Butter, and maybe one we could all do more of. Me I love music and with modern technology the humdrum sameness of life can be relieved and the nibd freed. You've encouraged me to go and download somemore.
Now I've cut the grass so a break is required. More music coming up
