Been lurking thought I would say hello

    Hello all

My dad has vascular dememntia/alzheimers and has deteriorated somewhat over the last couple of months. He is still at home supported by family and carers from an agency. I am fearful of what the future holds. He is also suffering from vomiting while eating and this needs an endoscopy - hate to try and explain that one to him. Just looking for some moral support on this journey. Thanks everyone in anticipation x

    Hi Wetnosewheatie...love your name!

Another welcome to TP, you probably know most of the regulars by now if you've been 'lurking.'

Hope you find lots of friends & support,

    Lots of love, Necion. xx

Sorry you’re going through such a hard time at present. I also cared for my dad for many years at home, I was the main carer but we also had agency staff just in the mornings. Know what an immense strain it is on the family and emotionally how sad it all is. Hope the hospital staff are fully aware your dad has dementia and are sensitive to that during the procedure. Know it’s easier said than done but just try and take one day at a time and not look too far into the future. I hope TP will be a great support to you.

Hello and welcome, you will not find a better place to be for advice and help. But most of all we all understand how you are feeling and how unfair everything can seem at times.
