Frustration is a mild word for the trauma of waiting and waiting for something which is very much needed. I don't know who you should be complaining to but it seems wrong for a branch to be so dependant on the manager's input, especially as this absence has been affecting the smooth running for some time.

Yes we are all entitled to be away from work because of illness, family circumstances etc., but such a large organisation as the Alzheimer Society with many LA contracts must be able to put someone temporary in place or at least have some sort of contingency plans.

I know how frustrated I used to be when the social worker assigned to us seemed to be always absent; either she was ill or one of her children was ill and I was left high and dry with no means of moving things forward.
