Could Deryck Kenny's example/experience be just the tip of the iceberg and we don't realise it?
Well, it might be, it might not be.

To be honest, this really is in the hands of the medical professionals.

We here on TP might add in the question about CJD when seeking a diagnosis (or during ongoing check-ups) when enquiring about ourselves or whomever we are accompanying having identified problems.

But it still comes down to the medics doing the legwork as to diagnosis. And ultimately the outcome will be the same - there's no medication, there's no cure, there's just management of the day to day living with a degenerative neurological condition.
