Unhappy memory and seemingly unsympathtic doctors

have had epilepsy for many years around 2years ago i started devolping memory problems intially these were minor things forgetting keys phone wallet pc passwords etc i started then to get lost in once farmliar places leaving shopping on public transport forgetting why i had set out on a journey and many other things intially i was reffered to a pyshcolist who after varrious tests agreed there was some memory problems though she wanted to see if my neuroligist thought they were linked to me epilepsy.i am concerned hes not taking my memory problems serrious last time i saw him he seemed to dismiss my memory problems saying if i had serrious memory problems i would nt recall the things i forget i am only aware of a lot of these things because friends tell me after a lot of the time i have friends write to my doctor and acompany me but he seems to concentrate purley on my epilepsy i always seem to get appointments at the end of his sessions when i am tired so find it difficult to have my say last time i was in and out in under 5mins what can i do

Go to another doctor. Get another opinion an another if you have to. Your health is paramount.

Hello Superleeds, welcome to Talking Point.

I am sorry to hear that your GP was not sympathetic, and I agree, you should try again with a different doctor if more than one is available at your surgery.

This AS factsheet re Should I Be Worried About Memory Problems may help you.

Good luck, please do let us know how you get on.
