Documentary - Poppa

Hi,

My name is Thomas Hole and i am a documentary filmmaker who also has a grandfather 'Poppa' that suffers from Alzheimer's.

Last year i began production on a documentary that looked at the effects music has on my grandfathers well being in his current state, as well as understanding the difficulties of myself visiting him in his care home.

I hope you have a minute just to watch a short sequence from the film and could provide any feedback or other films you recommend to use as research for the post production stages.

I have been a long time follower of the forum as it has been a method for myself to understand his illness and how i can cope with it. So this film is a type of coping method really, as it allows me to reflect and remember the incredible times we had in the past.

This was edited around a year ago, so has changed and been adapted since then.

Such as, photographs of the family begin to go missing from his room, which is due to other patients taking them to their own room. So the images have begun to be used in different conventions to show a loss.

I hope everyone can understand that i am making this film to help myself understand this illness and to reconnect with him through the only medium i can feel possibly can.
