Thank you Izzy, Kassy, Jan and Pied.

I honestly can't believe that this time next week it will be all done and finished!

    The latest total is £1250.

I am so proud of my very special husband, and it means so much to me that he chose to support a charity that helps me, and therefore my family, to benefit from this swim.

For anyone who hasn't read the whole of this thread - my husband, Owen, will swim the full length of Lake Windermere next Friday 8th June. The swim is expected to be roughly 12 miles long, and to last around 9 hours. He will be swimming on his own. The lake, in some parts, is 225ft deep

If anyone wants to add their encouragement and donate, just click on the link and follow the instructions: www.justgiving.com/owen-chapple

Thanks for all you support so far.
    Love Sal xx

After receiving notification that another TP member has donated on Owen's online page at www.justgiving.com/owen-chapple, I've just looked back at all the donations we've received.

I can't tell you how grateful I am for the donations we have received from TP members: £135 in total. Amazing - I consider you all my friends, even though I've never met you. Many of you have helped me through some of the tough times when I was caring for Grandad in his own home. We've been fortunate that things have been fairly steady since he moved into the CH, although we have noticed some decline in recent weeks. I'm sure I will be calling on my many friends here to support me again from time to time.

There has also been a single £100 donation from someone. I have no idea who they are - if it happens to be someone from here, thank you so very much.

    Thank you Izzy and Grove.

He decided he was going to do this over a year ago. For so long it has seemed like this "thing" at some point in the future - I can't believe I am now busy packing for the actual event!!!

He's so looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to it being over and him being safe and well (I hope) at the end!!!!

I've just tweeted & fb'd it again Sal to try to get Owen a bit nearer the target! Hope it helps a bit.

The 8th is our 24th wedding anniversary so it's a very auspicious date Sorry we can't be on the lakeside at Winderemere to support you both but we'll be with you in spirit.

    Good Luck!!

    (Hank you Mo.

Well we arrived in the Lake District yesterday and are, so far, making a lovely holiday out of it.

Tomorrow most of our supporters arrive. We'll pick up the kayak in the afternoon, and have our instruction for the boat. Then a massive pasta meal for 10 people - in our caravan!!!!

Then my uncle and I will pick up the boat at around 5 am on Friday, ready to meet Owen at the bottom of the lake to start his swim at 7am.

Owen seems reasonably relaxed. I'm feeling slightly more nervous. And the weather forecast is awful, for heavy rain all day on Friday.

    Any positive vibes gratefully received!
