My mum has passed away today

I'm so sorry to hear your news.

Just three days ago we posted in the same thread about our Mums nearing the end.

My Mum passed away this morning too,at almost the same time as yours did.

Like you,I have plenty to do,but I've never lost anyone so close and it's a unique sorrow.

The only comfort is that Mum was sleeping comfortably and never woke up.

After being in hospital for a week and 1 day, my mum passed away at 5 a.m. this morning. She seemed to rally on Tuesday, but we had a false alarm call from the hospital on Wednesday and raced there. She had been going downhill since then and passed away this morning. For her, I am glad there is no more suffering. Just about holding myself together by keeping busy and although her passing was expecting it hurts like hell. This bloody disease, how I hate it.

However, on the death note she died of aspirational pneumonia, with parkinsons and lewy bodies dementia at 84 years old.

I am so sorry to read your sad news, may you have strength in the coming days, and hold your head high, you have been a brilliant daughter xxxxxxxxx

Thank you for all your kind thoughts and wishes, they are very much appreciated. Was very busy yesterday with phone calls etc., and like us all, have lots more to do in the way of clearing some of mum's bits etc. Think I am on autopilot at the moment.

I know I am not really a carer any more, but please would you mind if I stayed on this site? Maybe I can be of some help to those of us who are still on this hard and painfull journey with our loved ones.
