Have you found any alternative therapies/ supplements etc helpful????

I have always been interested in alternative therapies, & often found different therapies etc helpful for different things. I have only recently been diagnosed with early onset, aged 53, & would welcome any advice or tales of alternative therapies/ supplements etc which you may have found helpful for your dementia....or not ! I have just started taking complex vit b, cod liver oil, gincobiloba , apple cidar vinegar and also coconut oil......I'm going to give it all a try ! I have nothing to loose , many thanks for any information

    Hello Dolly
So sorry to hear of your diagnosis. My husband was diagnosed with PCA aged 57, in November.
I have just sent off for some Rhodiola tablets which are supposed to help with depression that is linked to PCA. They are herbal and vitamin tablets. I work with a chap from Pakistan, and he tells me that in their country the focus is on taking almond oil and eating almonds to support brain function. He said it is cheaper to buy almond products from ethnic style supermarkets. Not sure if there are any in your area. Maybe worth a try.
Keep posting on TP as I am sure many people will give their opinions!
    Best wishes
    Maggie

Hi polly many thanks for this information....it was actually 2 Indian gentlemen who advised my other half to get me started on coconut oil, which I take in solid form, as 4 teaspoons a day.....it is also to ' feed the brain ' .....as you say keeping an eye on tp certainly comes up with interesting information!!
