    We are having a meeting

    Hi all,

Just heard from Mary's Social Worker a meeting on the ward has been scheduled for 2pm on Monday between the hospital and family.

her social worker, community nurse, carers representative have all asked to be included.

Hopefully following this I will be taking Mary home.

Compared to the stress I am feeling now caring for Mary is a doddle. I just wish I could close my eyes for a minute then re-open them to find it has all been some horrible dream.

Why can't they just let us get on with our lives. Its not about meetings or paperwork or targets etc it is about peoples lives.

Just off to get my hard hat and life preserver for the meeting. . .Health and Safety you know !

    Regards
    Bryan

    Hiya

Hiya Bryan, i know what you mean, when i was told i had Alzheimer`s i insisted that there was just the consultant in the room with me and Elaine. They wanted the Phsychatric nurse, the social worker, the support workers there just to tell me i had this horrible diesease !! I explained to the consultant that when i was a manager just before i was ill if i ever interviewed anybody i would do it on my own and not with another two or three people there!! If i wasnt trained to do the job i was paid for then how could i take a wage every month knowing other people were helping me to do my job for me !!LOL LOL. good luck with the meeting, best wishes, Norrms and family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
What do you mean i have Alzheimer`s? IVE BEEN DIETING FOR GODS SAKE !!

There is emphasis these days on enabling people to stay in their own homes as long as possible. I have been well supported I this and I hope you will too Bryan.
If you don`t need help now, you will eventually, so keep an open mind about what`s on offer as you never know when you might need it.
I hope the meeting goes well.
