Dear Shelah, yes thanks the holiday was good, got to make the most of it while we can haven't we. Sorry to hear you had a bad night, I can imagine how upset you got, they don't understand do they, these men, whether they have AD or not. I hope your SW gets in touch soon and you must insist that Len goes into respite for at least a few days, this is not doing you any good at all. Well of course you know that. Love and hugs Pauline xxxx

Seen all your pictures and they all look as if you had a very good time,I hope you did.
Just had a very bad night it was 2 this morning before I got Len into bed and I tried to get to sleep then he was up at 7 doing what I do not know.I got very upset and he told me to pull myself together. For the first time I said would he go into a home for a few days so I could have a break and he said yes but I am sure he does not know what I have said or thinks we are going together. This is the first time I have been brave enough even to mention it.Wait and see what happens I can move nowhere until my very good (I don't think) SW gets in touch. Hope you have a good week.Shelah

Hi Shelah, thanks for message, yes the holiday went well thanks but as usual I am thankful to be home, glad we aren't down there as the weather forecast was terrible, bad enough here, wet and windy. So sorry to hear Len is getting agitated, let's hope it's just a short interlude that he gets those symptoms, you need your sleep to be able to cope with this awful disease. Jack was OK on holiday, I think he enjoyed the company to be honest and the entertainment at night, singing along etc. made him happy. We haven't yet got our will sorted, the solicitor was waiting for the doctor's report (not good if you remember) and will be in touch when my will is ready to sign, in fact if I remember right she will send it to me and then I will go and sign it in her office. I did get the Council Tax disregard through and a nice rebate, Vonnie suggested I treat myself and why not! Hope your SW gets in touch soon, can you ask for a different one? Big hugs from Pauline xxxxxx

Dear Shelah, you have done well to lose the stone, I have three to lose! I havent much willpower I am afraid but will do my best.
I hope the SW is a good one and sorts out some respite for you, you will need a break, I know it is hard but by then maybe you will feel braver.
Take care of yourselves, love Pauline xx

I have just seen you have joined the slimming club ,very well done. As you may see I have done very well and have managed to loose one stone.A lot of this was managed because I had to report in each week and I did not want to show myself up by not doing well also I have a very strong will power. See you are going away, hope you have a good time.I have taken the first step and am waiting for the SW to come and make the first steps to sorting out some respite care for next year,I will wait and see if I can do it when the time comes.Shelah

Thanks for your reply, Pauline. Unfortunately the fleece is only for outside use and would not be right for cladding a greenhouse. Guess its because it is against glass etc etc ---- have asked about thuis at the garden centre ----- so thanks so much anyway

Oh crikey, it would take an awful lot to beat your weekend, I am so sorry, you need your sleep, so many people seem to have problems don't they with not getting enough sleep. Those UTIs are a real nuisance, hope you managed to get some antibiotics down him, is it worth giving him cranberry juice or a supplement? I give Jack cranberry tabs from Healthspan, they seem to do him a lot of good. That was a lot of money to have to spend on a new lock on the back door, I think they ripped you off. We are OK, thanks, the Red Cross OT came this morning to arrange for us to have a grab rail and a bath seat which will be super, and also a grab rail outside the back door. Considering it's all free I am well impressed. I hope you have a better night tonight, Shelah, love Pauline xxx

Sorry to say I have had a very bad weekend. It was 2-45 on Sunday morning before I could get him to go to bed and he was up again at 7,Then on Sunday he started with another UTI and we had to get the Dr. out, they were so busy the wait was 3-6 hours which was between 12-30 and 3-30in the morning. It was not too bad as the Dr, got there at 1-15 but during all this he wet his clothes at least 3 times and had to be changed at 6-15 in the morning as well and the bed was wet so up at 7.So in two days the most sleep I have had is about 7hrs. Loads of washing today and lots of drying out and getting things back to normal He had also wet the settee twice and the covers had to be taken to the cleaners. To cap it all he has lost the back door key so I had to have a locksmith to come out and fit a new lock at a charge of £103 pounds.Hope things are fine with you do not try and beat me.Shelah
