"Duly edited. My post crossed with Sue's. My reference was to the bidet/toielt seat which would be useful for my mother." - lol xoxox

Thinking of you Izzy & hoping for more rest for you x

Izzy - I think you may want to edit the toilet paper post - or have I misunderstood what is so fantastic - did the post go on the wrong thread??

Hi Izzy - yes I think I'm being nicer too - but am fighting getting people in for tasks - gardening help we have succumbed to - but housework, while stealing his research time - doe keep him in touch and communicating (feebly) - I fear a loss of ability & communication when a cleaner starts - ironing - iron has not been out for maybe a year or more - have learned ways of drying without crease & I do a very rude crease test before buying anything new.....(I hang things from the lintels on coat hangers straight from machine.....= avoids ironing). Lovely, really lovely to hear from you, S xox

Hello again Izzy - people have been so kind about my absence & part of me does not want to be here - it is real what we are going through & yet at best you can think there is nothing wrong. Everything husband does takes longer than it used to - so he thinks he is doing more - but he is doing less. Yes - we need a cleaner too .....next step. But I have made enormous progress in making our lives more bearable this year - as I'm sure you have too. Hoping for a calm w/e with few flash points heh?? P.s. DIY is variable - can be amazing e.g. shelves or very bodged - unlike old perfect self......

Thank you for your message, Izzy. The Carer's Assessment has been brought forward to next Tuesday (instead of "a month's time") and just knowing that respite is in the pipeline makes me feel better already. Love, Nan XXX

'The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.'

I am now a bit worried having read some replies to my thread about Bill's new medication (Venlafaxine). Even though there's a couple of positive posts it's the not so positive ones that are sticking in my mind. A bit scared now about how things will be when we change over to this.

Bill has spent the whole day in bed sleeping. About 5.30 I went up and asked if he wanted to get up and he said no. He wasn't really tired just didn't want to get up. I lost the plot and shouted at him. I have had a day of pouring rain, housework and mum who thinks he is in bed because he doesn't want her living here (not the case). I eventually went upstairs and told him to get up and go down and speak to her. Consequence these two are happy as larry and I'm still in tears. He's now sitting watching...

Well, here we are in Marrakech! I set my phone alarm for 7am so that we would be all organised as we are having a guide to take us round the Souk and the other sites today. In the past we wouldn't have had a guide but I;m not strong enough to wander off on the first day on our own when I know we would have to rely on me for sense of direction now. I would also need to make sure I didn't lose Bill so I think that a guide might be the best bet now. Forgot to change the time on my mobile phone so...

It's 02.11 and I can't sleep so I thought I would talk to myself in a blog!! Bill is snoring his head of as I type. I have to get up at 6.30 for work tomorrow - bodes well for doing a good Friday morning assembly at school!! School breaks up for the 2 week October holiday tomorrow - they call it the 'tattie holiday' from when kids used to get time off to go and harvest the potatoes!! Bill and I are off to Morocco on Tuesday - can't wait! As always I'm in a bit of panic as everything needs to go...

Just wanted to let off steam - again! Got home at 7.40pm after having been at work since 7.15 am and was checking through the mail. A package addressed to Bill was there - containing a bank mandate forms for him to fill in for the life insurance cover he had organised with someone on the phone!! It had his date of birth down as 1950 (it's actually 1930) and is for 10 years of cover! This is the second company to have organised something like this with him over the last few weeks. Again - I...
