    Hi Nan,
She is a pain, has attacked other residents and staff, likes to kick out at people, she fixates on someone for a while then moves on to someone else, unfortunately she keeps coming back to me and Bri, must be something about us she hates, maybe because we are a couple! Hows life treating you and Brian, not reading many posts lately so bit out of touch.
    love

Hi Nan, thanks for your message. You really do need to have a point of contact, it's ridiculous that we're left to cope on our own. Surely they know episodes can blowup out of nowhere. Makes me mad!!!! Love, Hazel

    Hi Nan
Off the internet, Coopers of Stotford. R/C Talking watch £39-99. It has a clear specking voice and the time is alway right with the radio control. I have had several items from Coopers, they seem to be a safe site.
    Hope this helps
    Helen

Can a Review be considered to have taken place when the SW merely said hallo to Brian when she arrived? Yesterday on the 'phone she said she had also asked him how he had enjoyed his week in respite, but since he did not go into the home until almost two weeks later I am non-plussed. She said she had asked me questions about how he was getting on - this was during the Carer's Assessment of me on 20th October - and this constituted a Review of him.

I only discovered this when Brian's...

Fetched Brian home yesterday morning at ten o'clock. He came home with everything he went in with bar a blue hand-towel and a flannel. (I can pick the towel up later, I was told.) Pretty good, I thought. He couldn't believe how quickly we got home, thinking we had much further to go. I made us some milky coffee and we had a bit of shortbread too - and then he went straight off to sleep for one and a half hours. I think he had bathed before breakfast, and helped to pack, and the general busy-ness...

I was glad I went to see Brian last evening, stayed for nearly two hours from 8.30 but will not go again until I pick him up on Tuesday morning. He was brought to me from some other part of the building - it has several wings and he had "gone for a walk" - and it was clear to me he did not know where he was or that he was in a home. He did not recognise the room we had sat in two nights earlier and was surprised when I told him he had a bedroom a few yards down the corridor. He said it...

Yesterday morning I rang the home to see if Brian were any the worse following his fall the previous evening. "He's up and about and seems as right as rain" I was told. I took back his trousers and socks (without going to see him) and then went on down to the beach.

Earlier I had seen some pictures of a TPer's Retreat and it occurred to me that I could now, with Brian's new birthday camera, our first ever digital one, perhaps take some pictures of my own little "retreat",...

Have just got back from the care home (10 p.m.) as had a 'phone call just after eight o'clock to let me know that Brian had fallen stepping out into the garden some fifteen minutes earlier. Only superficial grazing on his nose and forehead, they said, and the doctor hadn't been called as he seemed all right, just rather shaken. The chap asked if I would like to speak to him and I did, for about five minutes. "Ill pop down and see you" I said. "Will you? It seems a bit selfish of me....
