All busy online forums have to deal with spammers from time to time (people who send unsolicited messages with the aim of promoting their goods or services with forum users).
For the vast majority of the time, our moderating team ban spammers before they get to do anything on Talking Point...
Several of you have reported that you have found it quite complicated to attach a picture (or other file) to a post on Talking Point.
I’m happy to say that we’ve done some work on this function, to make it more straightforward to use. From now on, the process for attaching a file to a post on...

This post is to provide some pointers to posters who might have some problems getting their point across.
1) Emoticons AKA Smilies are great :D :);) but when you use too many of them, it's difficult to actually read and understand what you are saying. It becomes more like one of those...
I’m thrilled to say we are launching a free mobile app for Talking Point today, which will make it easier and quicker to use the forum on the move. (Some of our eagle-eyed members came across the app just ahead of today’s official launch, and I was very happy to see that early feedback has been...
I feel guilty now .... I just looked up some profiles because I wanted to check on some people's last posts ... and now I feel like I am snooping .... or I have an ulterior motive ..... and members might be wondering why I chose to 'look at them' - only I wasn't ......
I am very, very...
Apropos of absolutely nothing :D are you all aware that the Talking Point has an ignore list feature? Specifically, if you click on a user name, you are given the option to add that user to your ignore list. From then on you will not see any of that users posts. The procedure is: click on...
How do you get pictures, images put on a post ie when someone is down you send them flowers and chocolates.Thankyou.
Until approx yesterday, threads in the "Support for people with dementia and their carers" board appeared in bold where there were messages I hadn't read, and non-bold otherwise. Now they all appear in bold.
Is this an "improvement" in TP, or have I or my laptop got in a muddle? (I've had a few...
I’m delighted to welcome two new Volunteer Moderators, Izzy and Noorza, to the Talking Point team. Many of you will already know Izzy and Noorza: Izzy has been a forum member for many years and was previously a Volunteer Host, and Noorza has been an active member since she joined...
I know this is ridiculous but I cannot work out how to just quote part of a post in a reply. I have to quote all or nothing!
...........or am I being over-cautious?
Shortly before Christmas I received a phone call form someone with an asian accent, saying they were from Microsoft customer services. I had sent error messages (which I had, my old laptop was constantly freezing), and they were going to rectify the error....

John (Beechmount) indicated in another thread that he sometimes sees a post where the last word of a line is sometimes duplicated (either on the same line or on the next). I'm trying to track down what the problem might be but it's difficult because I am not seeing the same problem.
I am so hating the segretation.
I dislike that I cannot find my posts.
I loathe the fact that people I have been communicating with are no longer contributing to the carer forum. And that carers are no longer communicating much with the partners' forum.
Who benefits from this?
I think you are the expert.
When I post a message or start a new thread and if I've made a spelling mistake and try to correct it, or go back to add something, Why is it that I have to type the whole thing again, because, the following letter is deleted and then the next and so on?...

Hi, when I have read something in a post and I want to include it in a reply, how do I do that, please?
Might it be worth while putting a report triangle on blogs as well as threads, I know this is one for the moderators but I thought I'd raise it for your next housekeeping ideas meeting.
With kind regards from Jo
Hope this is the right place for this!
Am a bit of a gadget nut so naturally I want to find some incredibly complicated techie way to monitor my Mum (lives on own and has Dementia) without having to constantly drive round to her.
Before I start anyone know of any thread already discussing...
any ideas anyone please, like using smilies.
just now started using a dongle and lost the smilies option
Has the layout of TP been changed recently
I definately dont like what I see on my screen now, as their is loads of glare
the other sites I go on have not changed
Each time I try to add an attachment to the end of a post it is inserted at the beginning!
The cursor is in the right place but the attachment isn't. Any ideas please?
Also, when I choose 'go to last post' I am taken to the beginning or middle but not the end:confused: Ideas about this?
