What a Nightmare - Feel I must write to the National Papers - What do you Think?

Mum has been showing signs of a dementia but I didn't realise how long she must of been experiencing same. She had carers once a day but was refusing personal care saying she could do it. Had Meals on Wheels but now I realise she didn't have to eat them if she didn't want to. Nightmare begins
A last wish was she saw her brother in glasgow so we took her up to meet him (she was quite frail 6 stone) after 8 days she fell down his stairs backwards!!!! Very bruised but hadn't seemed to have broken anything. However a small fracture of the pelvis showed later on which they said was age related?
Hospital wanted after a week to send her back to where she came from - Wales! I tried in vain to get them to transfer to our hospital (England) However she had no registered doctor so they wouldn't take her. I got her a temporary doctor but Scottish hospital wouldnt ring them again saying Wales had accepted her.
She is an 88 year old lady and they were planning to send her in an ambulance for 8 hours just to off load the cost of care I presume? I phoned everyone for help both council and social workers in our area, MP, social workers in Scotland. No one could/would help. So after a cancellation of one week due to urine retentation the journey was booked.
I rang the local hospital to find out what ward she would be in. They didn't know she was coming!! They had no bed for her not even of a promise of a bed. The Welsh hospital rang Scotland and said they should NOT send an 88yr old on an 8 hour journey plus they had no bed so don't send her. Basically there were told the ambulance is booked so tough she's coming!!!!! The plan was to arrive at Accident and Emergency and dump her off there. Then they would HAVE to find a bed for her. That's exactly what they did.
I won't bore you with anymore details but she is much worse dementia wise. She has had the mini-mental test for mental capacity and failed. (Anyone know if this is the right test) A meeting was held last friday and a Discharge Nurse said "Has anyone asked her where she wants to go?" Home, Care Home etc? I said she doesn't have Mental Capacity to make decisions! I was told SHE still has to be asked. She might want to go home!! I actually own mum's house she can't walk, stand, not eating, catheter. She CANNOT look after herself so I said you try and send her back to the house I will lock it up and you won't get access (crying) How come they overule their own test? after going on that they need the test to be done.
Living Power of Attorney is currently going through...will I have any more POWER then to fight for this little 88 year old mum who is in a hospital bed talking to invisible people/seeing cats playing/thinks she is in an hotel/wants money to give to a male nurse cause she thinks he has done her a favour/not eating/catheter/nappy etc etc etc.....I REALLY DESPAIR.....Sorry this is so long.

Wow! What a load of stress.

I have not noticed if you have posted on the main forum, but may I suggest that you do so as you willnget more support from TP (talking point). As I understand it, not many people look at the blogs, so I feel you would get better advice if you posted on the main forum.
