I have EPA for both my parents (since 2006).
I am applying for recovery of funds (hopefully) as seen in a recent article in the national press, something that obviously is not made public for some reason! I am not sure if I need to apply for registration with the Court of Protection. I have read endless documents online but feel slightly concerned and confused as they appear to imply that they take over all the admin/accounts etc. I have enough to do without presenting more data to another party. I believe that this may be required because of failing mental ability etc.
I am an only child and my parents were insistant that I managed all their affairs, and although my father is now totally incapable of doing anything, as is my mother, he still is aware that I look after everything and is happy and assured.
Can anyone clarify this matter for me. Any advice would be appreciated.
