Am I mad?

Rate this Entry
My dad is 84 and mum is 82 they both have Alzheimer's - Mum has got very childlike and dads memory is really bad. The question is: I am thinking of taking them to Mallorca for a holiday, I will be taking them on my own but my two kids (kids!!! they are 30 and 26) live there. They love their Nan and Grandad and I know would support me while out there but am I mad to think of taking them away from their comfortable surroundings, they are still just managing at home, although I do drive 4 hours every couple of weeks to stay with them for a week at a time. I really want to take them but think I may be delusional to think it would work. Has anyone out there managed to do this?

    Hi,

Welcome to Talking Point (TP) .

I just noticed that this is your first entry in a blog, which is great.

The blog area doesn't get as many views as the main support forum, so I think you would get more response if you posted in the main forum area.

To get to the support area, click this link:

and then click on the ‘+Post new thread’ button in grey (this turns green when you hover your mouse over it):

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions about how to use Talking Point, you may also find it useful to take a look at our Help Videos.

    Best wishes
