Hi Everybody
I have been out of action while I found out what was causing the sudden onset of aggression in my husband. We stopped the Aricept and gradually he returned to a more normal state.
He is not easy to live with but at least I can sleep easily at the moment.
.I understand how difficult he must find life ,after always being in control he finds it all slipping away.He cannot remember the date or the day. He cannot find his way to the next town.He cannot even re-set the central heating or remember his pin number.
He does not know who he is talking with when we go to church , or into the town where we have lived for over 40 years.
He is cross , he is angry, he is fed up,he cannot do anything properly
.He knows it is likely the DVLA will stop him driving. ( he has had a small car accident which he cannot remember).I was not with him at the time he went off without my knowledge.
My sons and daughter think it is straight forward to stop him driving, but it is the last activity that he can do well as long as I can navigate.
How have you others managed? How have you said "No more driving"
