Update 25th April 11

I took Mum to the hospital to have her problems resolved. Dad was in his embarrasing jokey, loud mood thinking it would help Mum get her mind off her impending appointment! It just made her worse, So she asked me if i could take him out and into the hospital cafe for coffee and said she'd be fine. Dad carried on with his banter,i've got to the stage where i don't care what other people think so long as my Dad is happy and doesn't offend anyone with his oppinionated comments! We hadn't finished when Mum came to us. She has to go back in May ...so another trip to Hospital. Not that i mind i just live in them at the moment as Hubby is having treatment for a Cyst removal.
We had a trip into Town for a couple of hours.
Dad has his new toy a beeper/pager just in case he is in the house on his own and either has a fall or has an on comming stroke.
Happy Days got a family get together in a couple of weeks, wonder how my Dad will be with all the Grandkids around?
I'm loving going to Mum and Dads every week Mum says Dad doesn't want me to leave and wants me to live there. I think Dad lapses -if only for a few seconds- and think i still live at home.
I keep planting seeds for them to move into a bungalow and nearer to me, or live with us when the time is right if possible. We'll see.

We planned to have mum and dad live near to us and it did work out so well. However, dad had a stroke which left him paralysed and speechless for 7 years. Mum looked after him until he died and we then planned for mum to live with us. The extension we had planned for dad and mum never happened because not only did dad die but mum developed Alzheimers whilst looking after him. She now lives with us and that has proved the best plan after all.
Your mum and dad are lucky to have such a caring daughter and you will do what is right when the time is right. Good luck.
