I have been out of action while I found out what was causing the sudden onset of aggression in my husband. We stopped the Aricept and gradually he returned to a more normal state.

He is not easy to live with but at least I can sleep easily at the moment.

.I understand how difficult he must find life ,after always being in control he finds it all slipping away.He cannot remember the date or the day. He cannot find his way to the next town.He cannot even re-set the central heating or remember his pin number.
He does not know who he is talking with when we go to church , or into the town where we have lived for over 40 years.

He is cross , he is angry, he is fed up,he cannot do anything properly
.He knows it is likely the DVLA will stop him driving. ( he has had a small car accident which he cannot remember).I was not with him at the time he went off without my knowledge.
My sons and daughter think it is straight forward to stop him driving, but it is the last activity that he can do well as long as I can navigate.
How have you others managed? How have you said "No more driving"

Help........ What do I do ?Today at 4pm my husband was extremely aggressive , He takes himself off to bed during the day and then becomes very angry at any noise either inside or outside the house,
Today he accused me of deliberately disturbing him and threatened to smash my face in. He looked so disturbed and angry that I thought he was going to hit me. He followed me downstairs and then said he wanted to teach me a real lesson so that I would not disturb him again.
I could not believe this was happening because although he has been grumbling, finding fault all the time and taking a great dislike to some of our friends and neighbours he has shown no violence towards me before today.
He has had Alzheimer's disease now for about 5 years and it seems to be changing now. Please what have other people done to cope with aggression from a previously wonderful husband??
