Following a fall and stay in hospital - I was finally able to arrange for them to have home help three times a day, arranged all their finances - do their shopping on line from israel, and could fill this page with all the numerous tasks I have had to do over the last year - to be able to keep them safe at home - and manage everything from afar. I am a single parent with three children - and can only manage to go and see them every three months or so - and this is basically to check in with the care company and leave them money for my parents.....
They have no friends and no family - we are three in this world. of course they do not know they have alzymers - and frequently accuse me of all sorts of horrible things in respect of the "busy bodies" that are in their house etc. etc.
I am learning to ignore - but it hurts......Basically I have left two small children alone - and its breaking my heart. We speak every day - same conversation - same topic - sometimes three times a day
The carer is very nice - but I dont know how long it can go on for before it becomes dangerous. I cannot imagine to to tell them they have to go on a home - it would be totally unacceptable to them
