hi all after a long and hard fight , Dad succumbed to this horrible disease at 3pm sunday ...ill be online now and then if anyone going thru same thing
dad was complaining of a sore throat sept/oct last yr.after many visits to drs finally we got a ENT appointment feb this yr..turned out to be cancer of the larnyx..trachy procedure carried out then further larnygectomy march...thyroid,lymph nodes and voicebox removal carried out..after brief stay on cancer ward..20 days of RT..few overnight visits to various depts at hospital..good work undone by incompetence,poor training. noticed change in dads behaviour nov ...sent for further tests...eeg ...
another day starts at 5..woken up by dad for god knows why...very patient atm...confused and miffed a hour later...in so much pain today with my own bk but dont want to tell wife has i feel im wimping out...soldier on...
yet again another restless night.finally got up 5am...might manage double figures sleep wise this week...we've got him thru cancer to now find ourselves coping with alzeheimers/dementia...so many things left to do b4 xmas and we cant even get out of the house long enough..feel like we're living a virtual online life now..some days the strain uncovers the little cracks and it needs even more strength to pull it back together again.we know he cant help it but its so saddening just feel helpless to ...
