Over two years since I posted, Brian passed away on 1st July 2012, one week before his 62nd birthday and our 40th wedding anniversary, he passed away in his sleep with no prior warning, a blessing for him. We are still fighting for the continuing care, we lost the first appeal but the second one went in our favour but we are still waiting to hear what the pct will do about it. Brian had to move homes in October 2010 due to his aggressivke behaviour, he went to an emi unit which was ...
Not posting as often now! since Brian has been in the home for a year I feel I have relaxed more with the situation, the first birthday, christmas, anniversary, holiday etc have all been difficult but I have survived, just! Since we passed the year in the home anniversary I feel the second time for things will be easier, will see soon as it is Brians 61st birthday in July, I am finding it easier to take each day with Brian as it comes and not dwell on what might happen! Brian is ok, needs ...
Visited Brian today and he was stood up in the middle of his room! first time I've seen him stood unaided for weeks! had difficulty getting him back into his chair, he has difficulty sitting back down, doesn't seem to know how far down chair is and gets frightened he will fall. One of the carers said she had just been in and tried to help him back to his chair but he bent her thumb back so she left him for a while, the aggression is still there! Had a reasonable visit and left at lunch time. ...
Brian was not very alert today, head down most of the time and very quiet. I put some music on and he did tap his foot a bit but that was it. Son visited yesterday and he said Brian was just sat and didnt respond to him. Feel I am coping better with Brian being in the home, only taken a year!! but I feel more settled in myself although cannot look to far into the future!
Brian has been ok for the last week, eye clearing up now and he has been in a good mood with no aggressive incidents. When I went today I asked him if he would like to walk to lounge, he said yes so I helped him up and tried to lead him to lounge, we got out into the corridor and then he got frightened (of falling I think) and it was very difficult to get him back to his room, I thought he was going to fall, a carer came and helped and between us we managed to get him back to his room and ...
